    TMR is Florida's largest scrap metal recycler with over 20 recycling facilities located throughout the state. Our facilities include four automobile shredders, balers, shears, mobile shearing, torch processing, auto crushers, an extensive truck and railcar fleet, landfill services and railcar dismantling.

    TMR is currently looking for a Supervisor at our Landstreet location.  This person will work first shift but will need to have the flexibility to cover additional shifts when needed.

    Responsibilities

    1. Supervise/direct work crew in the processing of scrap metal.
    2. Maintain daily work schedule, ensuring team carries out assignments in an efficient and safe manner.
    3. Supervise, train, orient and direct staff of non-technical production subordinates.
    4. Proactively identifies safety and production improvements and brings these ideas to the attention of management.
    5. Hands-on supervision to include all aspects of shredder operation and maintenance.
    6. Interact with customers, coworkers and peers in a professional manner.
    7. Motivate team members to achieve positive results. Provide regular constructive feedback to team members.
    8. Anticipate parts and castings requirements and provide the to the facility manager.
    9. Support the facility manager in the scheduling of plant production to include both planned and unplanned maintenance.
    10. Routine inspection of all equipment and or machinery, such as: shredder, eddy current; air system, motor, electrical and hydraulic components, cranes, loaders, skid steers, forklifts, and any other small equipment and or machinery.

    Qualifications

     

    1. Ability to develop and implement effective procedures to improve safety, productivity, and efficiency.
    2. Ability to direct and supervise production and maintenance personnel
    3. Previous heavy industrial supervisory experience (min. 2 yrs.) preferably in a scrap metal shredding environment.
    4. Strong leadership, communication and interpersonal skills.
    5. Excellent verbal and written communication skills
    6. Computer skills including Excel, Word and Outlook helpful.
    7. Must possess excellent problem solving, organizational and team building skills.
    8. Ability to work flexible hours as required to meet production needs.
